On what looks like a good batting strip at the PCA Stadium in Mohali, Deccan Chargers have posted a huge total of 190 for 4 against hosts Kings XI Punjab. It was a poor show from the homeside as they spilled down quite a few catches.
The Chargers batting first after winning the toss got off to a brisk start of 47 for 1 in 6 overs. In-form opener Shikhar Dhawan carried the innings forward with Cameron White. Dhawan went on to score 71 from 50 balls (with 4 fours and 3 sixes) before getting dismissed in the 17th over.
Cameron White stayed till the end to score 67* from 41 balls with 8 fours and a six. Fellow Australian Daniel Christian supported him nicely with a cameo of 24 from 10 balls with a four and 2 sixes.
Deccan Chargers now look good for their third win of IPL 5 with Kings XI Punjab likely to suffer a massive casualty unless their batsmen fire on all cylinders.
