Australian Joe Dawes has been named as India’s new Bowling Coach in a BCCI working committee meeting in Chennai.

Australian Joe Dawes has been named as India’s new Bowling Coach in a BCCI working committee meeting in Chennai. Th former Queensland fast bowler will replace South African Eric Simmons who has held the post since January 2010. The 41-year-old Dawes who couldn’t play international cricket but has the experience of bagging nearly 300 wickets in first-class cricket will take over as India’s Bowling Coach after the ongoing Australian tour.

Joe Dawes has got this opportunity because Eric Simmons had decided to quit after the ongoing tour of Australia. The BCCI in a press release says that Joe Dawes has been appointed as India’s Bowling Coach for a period of two years.According to the BCCI, Dawes after finishing his first-class career with Queensland got into Coaching. So far, Joe Dawes has the distinction of being the Bowling Coach for South Australia and the Adelaide Strikers.
