India legend Sunil Gavaskar feels that India will win the one-day series against Sri Lanka 4-1. Speaking exclusively to NDTV, Gavaskar said, "My prediction is it will be 4-1 in favour of India. The red ball tends to swing more than the white ball and Gavaskar reckoned it will be easier for the home side to play with the white ball than with the red ball. White ball will be easier for the Sri Lankan batsmen.”

On Upul Tharanga, the captain of the Sri Lankan ODI side, who did not have a great Test series, he told NDTV, "Upul Tharanga is a very good one-day player. Sri Lanka can re-invent themselves in the one-dayers.”

While Tharanga, Dinesh Chandimal and Kusal Mendis among others have a good ODI record, Gavaskar feels Sri Lanka’s bowling is weak. "Sri Lanka's bowling looks a little bit weak," admits Gavaskar.

Gavaskar is also happy to see Manish Pandey get a place in the ODI team. "Manish Pandey deserves a place in the side. He is an outstanding fielder. Pandey can only get better," he told NDTV.

India play 5 ODIs and one-off Twenty20 against Sri Lanka, with the first ODI starting on August 20 at Dambulla.
