Mumbai are playing for pride having been knocked out of the playoffs race. They remain in last position with three wins after 12 matches. Their aim will be to sign off the edition with two wins. After winning five in a row, Hyderabad have now lost as many games on the trot. They will now need to win the next two games by huge margins and hope for the other results to go their way to sneak into the playoffs.
MI would have gained a lot of confidence from their win over the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their previous match. Daniel Sams was superb with 3 for 16 while Riley Meredith and Kumar Kartikeya claimed two wickets each as CSK were bundled out for 97.
Their batting remains a worry though. They slipped to 33 for 4 in the chase as Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan (wk), Sams and Tristan Stubbs fell cheaply. Tilak Varma again guided the innings. But in the absence of Suryakumar Yadav and Kieron Pollard being dropped the batting remains weak.
MI predicted XI: Rohit Sharma (c), Ishan Kishan (wk), Tilak Varma, Tristan Stubbs, Ramandeep Singh, Tim David, Daniel Sams, Kumar Kartikeya, Hrithik Shokeen, Jasprit Bumrah, Riley Meredith
SRH continued their disastrous run with another loss in the last game. Umran Malik fought back after a few poor games to claim three wickets against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan have done well while Marco Jansen made a good comeback.
Their batting was once again abysmal. Kane Williamson is having a bizarre IPL. He was dismissed for 9 off 17 against KKR. Rahul Tripathi had a rare failure, Aiden Markram made a quick 30 and the rest just caved in. It’s not looking good for SRH.
SRH predicted XI: Abhishek Sharma, Kane Williamson (c), Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Shashank Singh, Washington Sundar, Marco Jansen, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Umran Malik
Top fantasy picks for MI vs SRH clash: Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma, Jasprit Bumrah, Abhishek Sharma, T Natarajan, Umran Malik
